Emily Riffle Messner, CFRE, is regional vice president and chief philanthropy officer for the DC region and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. In this role, Emily provides strategic oversight for philanthropic initiatives across a comprehensive regional portfolio, including MedStar Georgetown, MedStar Washington Hospital Center, MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, and MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital.

Emily has been a cornerstone of the MedStar Health philanthropy team since 2010, serving in a succession of key executive roles to drive institutional growth and donor alignment.

A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Emily holds a Master of Arts in art history from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in art history from Vanderbilt University.
