About me
Rajiv A. Kabadi, MD, MS, is a board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist and cardiologist, Director of Cardiac Rhythm Management Devices at the MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute, and Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine. He serves patients throughout Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and the Baltimore region. Dr. Kabadi specializes in diagnosing and treating abnormal heart rhythms, known as arrhythmias.
Dr. Kabadi’s clinical expertise encompasses the full spectrum of cardiac electrophysiology, including slow and fast heart rhythm disorders, cardiac device therapy, physiologic conduction system pacing, and complex ablation of supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias. His special interests include conduction system pacing, cardiac resynchronization therapy, atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular arrhythmias, and advanced cardiac rhythm management.
Dr. Kabadi takes an individualized and patient-centered approach to care. He emphasizes clear communication, using plain language to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and procedural plans so that patients and their families can make informed decisions. When working with referring physicians, he prioritizes close communication, timely collaboration, and coordinated care.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kabadi is committed to advancing the rapidly evolving field of cardiac electrophysiology through research and education. His academic interests include mapping and ablation of complex arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, novel cardiac pacing techniques, and hybrid approaches for supraventricular and ventricular tachycardias. His research has appeared in respected journals including Heart Rhythm, the Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, and PACE.
