Naisha Vinson is the Vice President of Grant Development and Community Health for MedStar Health. A member of MedStar Health’s philanthropy team since 2012, she’s been leading the systemwide grant development team since 2024. In the Baltimore region, she is known for completely reimagining the existing grant structure by strategically prioritizing the programmatic funding focus on community health, population health and public health initiatives. 

Leveraging partner resources, elevating voices from our communities, and coalescing stakeholders toward maximum collective impact have been the hallmarks of Naisha’s grant philanthropy vision. She specializes in weaving together various federal, state, and local government funding in strategic support across MedStar Health’s distributed care delivery network to support various capital, research, and programmatic objectives.

Naisha’s career in philanthropy spans over 20 years and includes development experience in Maryland and New York through a variety of health care and human service organizations. Prior to joining MedStar Health, she spent years working in health care philanthropy with Greater Baltimore Medical Center as well as Mercy Medical Center.   

Naisha graduated from Fashion Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in advertising and marketing communications. She has made empowering our communities to advocate for themselves her personal goal. Naisha is currently the Board President for the Greater Baybrook Alliance, a well-known Baltimore based non-profit community development corporation. She also sits on the board of St. Francis Academy, the first and oldest continually operating Black Catholic school in the U.S.

Additional MedStar Health appointments include chair for the MedStar Harbor Hospital Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Council, member of the Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Steering Committee, and member of the MedStar Health Healthcare Anchor Network team. Naisha also founded the MedStar Workforce Development Collaborative—a Baltimore regional workgroup of 80 partner members focused on the resolving community challenges with hiring, recruitment, and retention in MedStar Health’s Baltimore region.

A native Baltimorean, Naisha lives in the Overlea neighborhood of Baltimore County along with her husband, Bernard, their two children, Vinson and Flore, and German Shepherd, Deuce.
